Overview of AMD Recruitment

Atomic Minerals Directorate – AMD Recruitment Laboratory Assistant Vacancy 2021. Applications are invited from eligible candidates for engaging to the following posts of Atomic Minerals Directorate for Exploration & Research (AMD) purely on a temporary basis for a period of two years extendable for one more year and co-terminus with the duration of the project.

Atomic Minerals Directorate for Exploration & Research (AMD) is in the process of executing a project on “Improvement of Laboratory Capabilities”.  With a view to supplement professional manpower for achieving the targets of successful completion of the project, AMD proposes to engage young professionals to support its officers.  In this regard, applications are invited from willing and eligible individuals for inducting them on a purely temporary basis for the following posts on consolidated remuneration for a period of two years from the date of induction, extendable by one more year as per the functional need.  Terms and conditions, eligibility criteria, etc. for engaging the young professionals shall be as under:

Laboratory Assistant (in Physics & Chemistry disciplines) and Project Associate-I (in Geology discipline).

Objectives

For successful completion of the project “Improvement of Laboratory Capabilities” being executed by AMD in a time bound manner.  The activities that the young professionals as mentioned at point-1 would take up involves but not restricted to the following.  Please note that the young professionals may be assigned fieldwork for data collection and scientific studies.

Laboratory Assistant (Physics/Chemistry):
Services of Laboratory Assistant shall be utilized to provide analytical support both in labs and field.  Many of the field analytical programmes like gamma-ray logging etc. require the support of skilled manpower so as to ably assist the scientific officer to timely complete the studies and generate quality data.

Project Associate-I (Geology): 
Project Associate based on their knowledge/experience on mineralogical and geochemical analysis will be engaged to be associated with the senior scientists of AMD to carry out advanced mineral-chemical research using techniques like polarising research microscopes, EPMA, XRF, TIMS, IRMS, etc.

Duration of Engagement/Induction

The terms of engagement/induction shall be for a period of two years, extendable for one more year, as per the functional need.  The period can also be curtailed based on performance evaluation.  The appointment of the Laboratory Assistants and Project Associates would be on Full-time basis and they would not be permitted to take up any other assignment during the period of engagement with Atomic Minerals Directorate for Exploration & Research.  All extant provisions/instructions of Government of India etc. shall be strictly followed and the engagement/induction shall be purely temporary in nature.  Therefore, mere selection of the candidate to the above post shall not confer him/her a right to claim for regular employment/absorption in AMD.

 

Remuneration

The amount of monthly consolidated remuneration to Laboratory Assistants and Project Associates shall be as mentioned below:

Laboratory Assistant (Physics/Chemistry) 20,000/- plus House Rent Allowance as applicable

Project Associate-I (Geology) 31,000/- plus House Rent Allowance as applicable.  In the event of extending the term of engagement/induction by one more year, the candidates who are engaged/inducted as Project Associate-I for a period of two years shall be re-designated as Project Associate-II and shall be paid a consolidated pay of `35,000/- plus House Rent Allowance as applicable.

 

TA/DA to be paid to the Laboratory Assistants and Project Associates

Laboratory Assistants and Project Associates will be paid TA/DA after their engagement/induction for the project in AMD for their field visits and official tours, if any.  The entitlements for travel on tour have to be based on the 7th CPC rates only.  Respective Regional Directors/HOO will be the approving authority.

Certificate of Professional Services

Experience Certificates will be issued to the candidates, on satisfactory completion of their tenure and on submission of their Performance Report/Paper and its evaluation in the concerned office.

Declaration of Secrecy

All professionals engaged/inducted will be required to furnish oath of secrecy in prescribed format at the time of reporting for induction. The professionals may not, except with the previous sanction of AMD in the discharge of his/her duties, publish a book or a compilation of articles or participate in a radio broadcast / TV telecast / any other media or contribute an article or write a letter to any newspaper or periodical or any other media, either in his/her own name or anonymously or pseudonymous in the name of any other person, if such book, article, broadcast uses any information that he/she may gather as part of this project, without the prior approval of AMD.

During the period of his/her assignment with AMD, the professional would be subject to the provisions of the Indian Official Secret Act, 1923 and will not divulge any information gathered by him/her during the period of assignment to anyone who is not authorized to know/have the same.

The professional engaged by the AMD shall in no case represent or give opinion or advice to others in any manner which is adverse to the interest of AMD.

 

Termination Notice

AMD reserves the right to cancel the appointment of the professionals i.e., Laboratory Assistants and Project Associates at any time, without providing any reason whatsoever.  However, in the normal course, it will provide one month’s notice.  The professionals can also seek for termination of the Contract upon giving one month’s notice to AMD.

Leave

30 days paid leave per year (pro-rated @ 2.5 days per month of completed service) in addition to the casual leave as per rules of this Directorate. Maternity/Paternity leave shall be admissible as per Government of India instructions.

 

Logistics and Support

The Laboratory Assistants and Project Associates engaged by AMD for the said project would be provided with working space and other necessities as deemed fit by AMD.

Expected Outcomes / Performance

  1. Goals/targets for the Laboratory Assistants and Project Associates shall be fixed at the time of their joining and shall be reviewed on a monthly basis.
  2. Laboratory Assistants and Project Associates shall submit the Job Chart and Performance Target (monthly) under the guidance of the Regional Director/HOO within 7 days of Joining.

Responsibilities of Regional Director/HOO

The candidates selected as Laboratory Assistants and Project Associates shall report to Regional Directors and HOO concerned and shall be guided and supervised by them. These officers shall fix their performance targets and evaluate the same on regular basis.

Application and Selection

  1. Applicants will apply for the post/position specified in point-4.
  2. Applicants will submit an application in the prescribed format and send a soft copy of the same along with scanned copies of educational qualification certificates, experience certificate, caste certificate, etc. through e-mail to Assistant Personnel Officer (Recruitment), AMD, Hyderabad at his e-mail ID – rectt2019.amd@gov.in during the period from 18.01.2021 to 23:59:59 pm of 23.01.2021. During the application stage, applicants have an option for choosing the regional office where they would like to attend for an interview.
  3. Shortlisted candidates will be called for an online interview at the place chosen by them in their application.
  4. The selection shall be made on the basis of recommendations of the Selection Committee constituted for the purpose by AMD. AMD will issue a communication to the selected candidates to join.
  5. The candidates called for online interviews will be required to produce original certificates in support of fulfilling the eligibility criteria in respect of educational qualification, experience, caste, etc. during the interview and at the time of joining.
  6. No TA/DA will be provided to the candidates for attending the interview.
